The Bajaj Avenger 160 Street has the typical traits of the Avenger bike family -- a low-slung seat, forward-set footpegs, raised handlebars, a raked-out front-end, and a bulbous fuel tank. You get a simple circular info cluster mounted on the handlebar. It is an analogue speedometer with a digital inset displaying limited information like a tripmeter and an odometer. The fuel gauge and several other tell-tale lights are located on the fuel tank, away from the rider’s vision.

The Bajaj Avenger 160 Street is powered by a 160.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor. Bajaj has had to kit this engine with a fuel-injection system to meet the BS6 emission norms. As a result, the output figures of the BS6 motor are 15PS and 13.7Nm, 0.2Nm more than before. It comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.

Given that the bike is built on a budget, you find simple mechanical elements on the Avenger 160 Street. It is built on a traditional diamond frame with a conventional fork and twin shocks handling suspension duties. Bajaj has given the BS6 Avenger 160 Street a larger 280mm front disc instead of the 260mm unit found on the BS4 model. The rear 130mm drum unit remains unchanged. Single-channel ABS comes as standard. Being a Street version in the Avenger bike family, the Avenger 160 gets alloy rims.
